I’m getting the same problem. Broadcast with RSS has not worked for almost a week. It picks up that a new RSS feed item has arrived, but then doesn’t go on to next item in the flow.

I’ve tried with brand new flows, single messages, and different RSS feeds.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the inconvenience you’ve had with this. We rolled out a fix this morning so hopefully that should now be working for you both. If you do find any issues still occurring please do let us know and we’ll get onto those straight away.

Hi, we have noticed that the broadcast RSS feed trigger doesn’t retrieve item’s links, we were using the permalink field that the broadcast step exposes, but this is not returning anything. We only see it returning title, summary, content and the date/time fields of items. Image URL and item URL (permalink) are not coming back.

Hi there

When I use the BBC new rss feed and our standard News Feed template I can access both the Image URL and the item URL.

If you’re still experiencing this problem, can you please email into support@flowxo.com and include the URL of the rss feed in question, a screen shot of the broadcast when it’s received and a screen shot of the expanded logs. It might also be useful to share your flow with us as well if possible.

Thanks
Karen

If there is any HTML in the RSS fields, the fields sometimes get stripped and either return empty or not at all.

This is a known issue with FlowXO; there’s even a card on the roadmap for it — https://trello.com/c/42XOdcFE/309-html-in-broadcast-rss-fields

For this reason, with one of my flows, I now use the RSS to trigger the broadcast, then do a JSON call to get the actual data since the RSS content is not reliable.

Hi @yziner,

There’s a post here that shows how to do a webhook to fetch items from an RSS feed which you can then use this data in your messages to users.

I hope this helps
