Messenger Welcome Message

(John Jackson) #1

There’s currently a bug with Messenger that means we can’t set the welcome text for bots (or update the welcome message).

This is affecting everyone, and there’s no workaround. If there’s no welcome message set, users can still use your bot, but they’ll need to type help to know what it can do.

Facebook have a fix and they’re rolling it out very soon. We’ll update with more information here when this functionality is working again.

Hello John

the problem is solved ?..

Hi Yohan,

This was resolved shortly after the post by John.

Are you having issues with something?

(yohan) #4

Hello Kellsey,

I can not display a welcome message when someone clicks on start the first time
Is there something to do?

have a good day

Hi Yohan,

The welcome text is normally only displayed the very first time that the user connects to the bot rather than every time that the user needs to press the Get Started button.

Has the user testing this welcome text interacted with the bot before?

Hi,

No, when I do a test and I start to enter for the first time in contact with the bot. The message is not displayed … it has not been displayed for any of my users

Hi Yohan,

Do you have a catch-all trigger in any of your flows?

(yohan) #8

Thanx for reply ?

yes  . do I need to change it ?

(Kellsey Shaw) #9

Hi Yohan,

You see on your bot setting next to the welcome message, there’s a checkbox that you can check if you want to display the welcome text when you are using a catch all.

You’d need to tick that option when you are using a catch-all
