What happens to the data users send via Facebook Messenger Chatbot

Hi

I’m building a chatbot for Facebook Messenger. Some of the questions sent to it by users may contain sensitive information. To that end I’d like to know a bit more about where that data (including photos/video) ends up. Obviously it becomes part of the Messenger chat session, but does it also get stored up on Flox XO servers? This would be an issue for us particularly since it would held in another jurisdiction to where I live (Australia). Thanks, Phil.

Hi @Philip_Mccarthy,

All user answers are stored on our servers as well as Facebook servers. Photo’s/videos will be stored on the Facebook servers alone, however the URL to the location of these will also be stored on Flow XO’s side. For Flow XO all data is stored within the EU. Our Privacy Policy can be seen here.

The Flowxo privacy policy is comprehensive but may be too wide for application providers using the flowxo platform. For example, I am concerned at the number of external suppliers listed in the appendix and section 10 on data sharing outside the EEA.

Given that all your flowxo customers should be publishing a privacy policy could you considered a generic privacy policy which is more specific about the data and use by Facebook.

Thanks Andrew
