Underscore messes up links

(Vladislav Arbatov) #1

Hey!

I ran across a bug when a Bot - Send Message block syntax breaks because of an underscore in a link (i.e. http://instagram.com/er_novosti/). In a dialog then underscore itself disappears, links become unclickable and the whole text after this underscore is italic. I can assume it’s some markdown related issue.

Would be helpful if you could point out how to fix this because it completely breaks the flow at the moment.

Hi Vladislav,

I’ll have one of our engineers look into this for you. In the meantime, you could use a URL Shortening service. This would manipulate the URL and would remove the underscore.

Hi Vlad,

We’ve done some investigation on this for you, it appears to be an issue with Telegram thinking the ‘_’ is the start of some Markdown and as it never finds the ‘closing’ underscore it is causing an error.

There is a work-around however, you can use a Markdown formatted link (See below):

OK Ryan, that work-around works, thank you.
