Switching "writing" action on/off when creating a bot

Is there a way to switch off the writing action?

Hi @anoukbergner

What platform are you building your bot on? If you’re building on Facebook Messenger then there is an option in the bot setup to “Disable Text Input”. This will stop the user being able to type anything else. Unfortunately this feature isn’t possible on any other platforms I’m afraid.

Hi @DanielBeckett thanks for your reply. Sorry for being unclear, I do not want to prevent the user from being able to type anything else. What I am trying to do is mask / hide the gif with the three dots that appears before the bot answer. In other words, the bot answer should appear directly without any delay and visual indicating that the bot is “typing” something. Does that make sense? We are using the bots for research so we are not linking it to a messenger platform.

Unfortunately there’s no option to disable the typing indicator at the moment.
