Private Slack channels?

(Olli Sulopuisto) #1

How do you set up a FlowXO trigger for a private Slack channel? The help says “Give a channel name to check for new messages. You can give the name of a public channel (e.g. #general), a private group (e.g. #private) or a DM channel (e.g. @user)” but I’ve had no luck with that.

Different variations, ie. using @ or leaving the prefix out completely, don’t work either.

Any suggestions? (And yes, I’ve doublechecked that I’ve authorized the correct team and the channel name isn’t spelled wrong.)

Hello Olli

I just tried running this a few times and got a success on each occasion using ‘@example’.

Could you tell me more about your set up / how you’re testing this?

Obviously if you’re testing, you’ll need to be signed in separately for each account that you’re sending from / to. I did that through separate browsers so there was no confusion.

I guess @vikasietotila isn’t the authroized user in the account that you’re monitoring? That user would have to be ‘another’ user (eg, the one that sends the message from a separate browser.)

Thanks,

Steven
