New Broadcast Feature (Replacing Push & Feeds)

(John Jackson) #1

We’ve released a major update today, introducing Broadcast to replace and consolidate the Push and Feeds services.

The push and feeds services will still be available if you want to continue using them.

There are 3 triggers available; Receive a Webhook, Receive an Email and New RSS Feed Item. You simply hook up the actions you want to run for each user who receives the broadcast (usually sending a message or a card).

The major differences between the new service and the old are:

  1. Broadcast is vastly easier to use than push or feeds.
  2. The new service doesn’t rely on your users subscribing to a push or feed, you can broadcast to anyone that has interacted with your bot.
  3. You can filter/segment broadcasts by the bot itself, or by attributes set against the response path.

You’ll find full details of how the new service works in the help guide.

Look out for another major new feature being announced tomorrow!
