Image File Type Error

I am getting this error.

(#546) The type of file you’re trying to attach isn’t allowed. Please try again with a different format.

I have tried loading from Dropbox and Google Drive and as jpg and gif. I have tried in Card and in Send an Image. I have tried to reduce the dimensions of the image. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have the same problem?

Hi @stellarun1 :wave:

In order to send an image, the image must be hosted somewhere that is publically accessible, rather than be hosted in a service such as Dropbox or Google Drive. You could try hosting it at somewhere like https://imgbb.com/ instead and this should work. :thumbsup:

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried this now and still don’t get any image displayed in a card or in a send image.

Do you still get the same error when using an image hosted from the site shared by Karen?

Okay I tried it again with the other link provided and it worked! Thank you all very much for your help, I really appreciate it!

A better response to this is to turn the dropbox image into a publicly accessible raw image, sothat you don’t need to store your images in multiple places.

Just add ?raw=1 at the end of the dropbox image link.

Hi,

Unfortunately I don’t believe this will work. The send an image service expects that the url includes the actual file name and an image extension. :thumbsup:
