Help with PODIO integration

(Michael Mallmann) #1

Hi!

First of all, Flow XO is amazing!

I´ve been using this integration between PODIO and FLOW XO and it works really well. When the field (back in PODIO) is a text type, I can record the information we want easily.

However, when the the field (in Podio) is a category type (like a list of choices) I can´t record any information in it (even though the question flow here is question with a choice type) and the choices are written exactly the same in both systems, Podio and Flow XO.

Any help with it?

Thanks very much!

Hi Michael,

What action are you using in your flow? E.g. Add a task, update a task etc.

Have you checked you error logs in Flow XO? If you could screen shot the error log and post it here then I should have a better understanding where the problem is.

Hi Ryan,

I´m using the action ADD AN ITEM.

The logs show the the item was created successfully

but, for example, this field SEXO is not recorded in Podio, neither the field CNH and both of them are category fields. All the other fields are working fine.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ryan … did u see the image I attached few days ago? Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Michael,

The best way I found to do this is to add a “Bot>Add a question” action and set the ‘question type’ to ‘choice’. Set your choices answers in Flow XO (Make sure they’re the same as in Podio).

Then add your “Podio>Add an item” action, when choosing the output for your choice you should use the pencil icon.

This will let you have access to the ‘XO’ button, you just need the select the output to “Bot-Ask a question>Answer”

Hope this helps,

Ryan.

Hi!

That´s exactly what I´ve done before!

The result is that: the fields that are text type (in Podio) receives the
information correctly. Whereas the category (or choice type) fields don´t
are left in blank in Podio (even though it registers as if it was right in
the flowxo log).

Any other idea we could try?

Thanks very much for helping me out!

Hi Michael,

Sorry, for the delay getting back to you on this. We’ve had a spot of bother with our reply notifications :disappointed:

It sounds like it may be due to the field type. Category may very well be joined/dependent on another data set. We commonly see this type of situation with users. Each user would have an ID and it is that value that should be submitted rather than their name.

It may be the same case with these categories. Do you know if these are stored with id’s or references?

I have no idea, but I contacted Podio help desk … let´s wait for their
reply.

Many thanks.

Well we’ll wait for their answer. Hopefully, this will shed some light on the situation.
