Google Email sender results in error

(Peter) #1

I keep receiving ‘ScriptRunnerError’ every time I try to send an email via GMail.

I actually suppose it is something on your side because my old SendEmail actions (which I have already tested and I am sure they work 100%) stopped working with the same error too.

The flow obviously fails immediately and does not go any further…

Hi @Peter

Sorry you saw some issues with the Gmail send an email action. I’ve just ran some tests and it appears to be working as normal at the moment.

Are you still seeing the same error?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes. :frowning:

Just as before:

Has your Gmail account been modified in any way recently? This could be a password change, a permission change or enabling two factor authentication.

Thanks,
Dan

No, not that one. I haven’t touched it since I first allowed FlowXO to access it.

There were, however, changes to the general Gmail design. My personal account asked to change for the new design and so on.

I have just logged in to the bot account. It works just fine. I received a test message from the bot.

I actually wanted to check if FlowXO is still allowed access to it. It is not listed (why?) in the applications I trust. Should it? I will now try to authorise FlowXO again maybe?

Funnily enough, when I created another account with the same credentials (connected it to the same Gmail account) it works.

So I presume something has happened on the way with the old link between my account at FlowXO and Gmail. I will now replace all accounts in my flows to the new one and that will hopefully solve the problem.

Basically I have only one question now. How to avoid these things or at least to know this has happened ASAP?

@Daniel, I will continue here to not expand the number of threads.

I seem to have replaced all accounts in my flows. Now I have 3 flows where I use it and two more which are nearly empty (remnants of testing).

However I can not delete the old Gmail account. It is said to be used in one flow, which I can not find. Triple checked my three flows with Gmail and they all are switched to the new one. What makes me feel strange is that the new Gmail account is said (at the Accounts tab) to be used in 4 flows. I know there are only 3 where it is used now. There used to be 4th (where I tested it to let you know it works), but I deleted it.

Is it because the data is not yet updated or I miss something?

Deleting the action from the flow doesn’t completely remove the associated account from that flow. When removing linked services the entire flow would need to be deleted to break the link (you could copy the original one after deleting the action).

As for the number count not updating for a deleted flow there could be a slight delay. Logging out and back into your account or performing a hard refresh of the page should hopefully fix that.
