Cannot capture FB Comment web tool URL field

(Augusto Vera) #1

I am trying to setup a FB Comment web tool in a post, after clicking the timestamp as indicated, I copy the URL from the post from the toolbar of chrome, but I cannot paste it after the FB authentication button, nor even type it because the URL field stays blocked and just accepts typing numbers and not letters, HELP!, this is crucial to setup for a prospect I am pursuing.

Thanks

Hi @Augusto_Vera,

When you paste the URL into the “Facbook Post URL or ID” field in Flow XO we automatically strip the URL to just leave the specific ID number of the flow. Don’t worry about this it is working as designed and if you continue through to finish creating the Web Tool you will be able to test the comments out.

Karen, the problen is that I cannot continue, I try to paste the url in the URL field and nothing appears, nor I can type it, and the next button is grayed, already tried restarting, using 2 different browsers, even Edge (yuck)

I am copying the URL that appears in the address bar in chrome is it correct?:

ÂżWhat part is extracted of the URL?, the field does activate if I try typing numbers, other than that does not activate:

Hi @Augusto_Vera

The link you’re showing there looks in a different format to mine. Mine looks like https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=000000000&id=000000000000000 where it is the story_fbid that we require for the link.

When you’re clicking on the date of the post is it this section?

wait what is that?, is it not a facebook post within the page?, I see it is like a facebook ad in your example or something. I posted something in my test page (fictitious political figure), and I posted something and want to be warned whenever someone posts a comment to the post. This is what I get, I click in the time below the post comment:

and what comes out in the chrome URL is this:

I wonder why, am I doing something wrong?

Karen I made another post without picture and worked fine as yours, I posted another message WITH a picture and it does not work at all. It would be very nice to respond to posts with pictures or videos, since these are the ones that attract more comments from people.

Same issues here. I totally agree with @Augusto_Vera, @KarenBarker.
