Adding Emoticons to choices

(Yun) #1

Hello there Team Flow XO,

Are we able to add emoticons to the choices presented when asking a question?

(Sarah Palombo) #2

Hi Yun,

Yes this is possible! you have to add certain emoji icons though. If you copy and paste these from http://getemoji.com/ We’re using these in our bot to give it a bit more personality. Add them to your cards or question options

Hope that helps !

Hello!

I also wanted to add some emoticons to a choices question. I added some from “http://getemoji.com/” but it doesn’t work.

In my example, I just want to ask “how are you” and there are 3 options = just emoticons, like “:slightly_smiling_face:”!
In Facebook I can see the emoticons but when I click one then I get this message

“I didn’t get that, can you try again? Make sure you type your answer carefully.”

The funny thing, when I add a text to my option, like “:slightly_smiling_face: happy” then it works, but just with a text. “:slightly_smiling_face: !” doesn’t work.

As you can see:

  • option 1 is my favorite, but doesn’t work
  • options 2 works
  • options 3 doesn’t work

What can I do that option 1 “:slightly_smiling_face:” works?
My target is one question with these three options: :slightly_smiling_face:,, :frowning:

Hi Oliver,

I’m going to get the developers to look into this so hopefully it will be fixed in future. Unfortuantely for now you are going to need the word after the emoji as well to get this working. :slight_frown:

Strangely if you use the messenger emoji’s or send the emoji as a message rather than clicking on the buttons it will work.
